You no like work?
OK. Do your thing. You be you. I’ll be me. I know you hate that.
I think I’ve read 100+ Medium articles from people who don’t want to go back to work.
Fine.
You hate work. You hate managers. You hate business owners. You hate large corporations. You tried starting a business but it’s hard ain’t it? Damn, it’s hard. So let’s sit down and cry, and we’ll commiserate together and let’s blame the system for our collective failure.
You’re entitled to your opinion, and you may be right. But I’m betting against you because of my own experience, especially over the past couple of years.
I’ve always had a good job and enjoyed great pay, allowing me to live in nice places, travel, eat well, and not worry about stupid shit like medical bills or not being able to replace a cracked windshield on my car. I’m not rich, but I have traveled extensively, lived and worked in several countries, and I’ve always been relaxed about money. All thanks to….. yes: work.
Then in 2019, my beautiful amazing wife was struck down by a brain hemorrhage and left in a coma. She came out of her coma after a couple of weeks, but was left so severely impaired that she needed 24x7 care and couldn’t work, dress herself, prepare food, shower or get around town unassisted.
