You nailed it - this is excellent and absolutely on target, true and necessary. Much of what I'm writing these days is along the vein of rejecting the groupthink and asking people to use their brains, think independently and call BS when a story is snowballing just because of its trendy woke narrative. In the same way as The Social Dilemma explains social media's addictive power as the AI gives us more of what we like, digital news media is pouring more fuel on the fire by allowing their algorithms to promote based on most read or most shared. This will pump the emotionally charged nonsense to the top of the charts, and will will Don Lemon's hour with stories about skin color (victims) and white-skinned villains. Nobody benefits from any part of this.
