You must be a New Yorker. California shredded the non-compete concept decades ago. There would be no Silicon Valley if we still respected that byzantine law. It's astonishing it survived this long. Imagine a corporation shutting down an ex-employee's career for several years after they leave or are let go. Maybe that explains why the business innovation levels in NYC are so much lower than those in San Francisco bay area.
