You are so wrong on Robotaxi. Musk sees he can't keep cheap Chinese EVs out of his turn for long, and in Europe they're already prevalent. Cancel the $20K Model 2. Accelerate autonomy. Make it an Uber ride instead of an ownership story. Never park it. It works 24x7. The economics are terrific. Let China flood the market with cheap EVs, like the cheap everything it already excels in. Car ownership is soon over. We will not get on buses, trains, public transport. We'll hail autonomous rides because they will cost 20% of today's Uber ride prices. Pencil it out. Elon wins. Again.
Releasing buggy V1.0 products late and asking rich people to pay high prices for them is perfect innovator strategy. They will buy. And they will pay for the improvements needed so that V2.0 can hit mass markets where buyers are less tolerant. He will keep selling Tesla Roadster 2008 with every one of these products, and the skeptics will complain. But the people with money will buy them.
