Why you should kill your Ring camera

Don’t give it away. Kill it.

Your Ring camera is helping you sleep at night, dutifully catching thieves, vandals, burglars and maybe even an occasional raccoon or squirrel terrorizing your front porch. Congratulations!

However, did you know that your Ring camera is yet another scheme by Jeff Bezos and Amazon to promote white supremacy at the neighborhood level? It’s yet another insidious and clever way of building a divide between middle class white people and underprivileged non-white people. It needs to be stopped. You’re an unwitting soldier in the white supremacist army.

Furthermore, Ring is a massive invasion of privacy for all who happen to come near your front door. Nothing gives you the right to record and keep footage of the faces and voices of low paid delivery workers, who are just doing their jobs. And even more inconceivable is your right to use Ring footage to publicly shame the low paid delivery worker for tossing a package and — allegedly — breaking a product or item that you bought. This is the pinnacle of Karenism and it needs to stop right now.

Additionally, school kids playing as they make their way to or from school, could get caught on your Ring cam, and you may decide to use NextDoor to shame them for dropping litter in your front yard, or breaking a plant pot…
