While the Ai-washing you talk about is absolutely happening, I believe companies are not wrong to talk up this element and promise improved productivity resulting from an AI investment. Our reaction - as a society - to these promises, should be to more actively measure the location and extent of actual productivity gains, and to begin to adjust our outlook in preparation for extensive job lossses by indistry sector and employe role type. Then, we should begin to figure out how to prepare for new job types and opportunities presenting as we morph into an AI-assisted workforce. My fear is that these opportunities will be far fewer in number than the job losses resulting from AI efficiencies.
