This is brilliant in its blending of historical record and keen observation of today's forces at play. I have focused possibly too much on the progressives' lack of enthusiasm for Biden and the centrists. They wanted to score a reaction victory by pushing America into a violent swing to the left, and we didn't buy it.

Yes, the centrist manifesto is an exciting one, and much has been written about Biden's opportunity to make meaningful changes that would last for decades. Healthcare for all is a centrist idea, not a radical leftist one. Gun sense can be shaped to be palatable for second amendment supporters, as long as disinformation isn't too strong an influence. Immigration reform could be passed to enable closing the border and reopening it for legal applicants only. Education reform could abolish student loan tyranny and replace it with government grants and more funding for free colleges.

Your first point is critical: a party is a malleable, transient collection of ideologies, and perhaps this election will be the reshuffle we were looking for.
