There are many lovely spots where local government has intervened and blocked the growth of tourism, making those places inaccessible to all but the very wealthy. This will continue. Other places haven't responded yet, but will. This is a natural balance of free markets.

Placing the burden of blame, shame and guilt on the consumer is both lazy and sanctimonious, and that's why it will never work. Timing is not on the side of the sanctimonious: we have reached peak woke, and from here forward our tolerance of shaming techniques will decrease significantly.
