Yes, your rabid dog right winger friend has just delivered a 6 minute rant about how evil the liberals are. Thank you, Bubba John. We’re all wiser now that we’ve listened to your enlightened account of Bill Gates’ evil schemes and countless other wild stories.
The thing is, Bubba John, the people you’re calling “liberals” are actually not at all liberal, they’re fascist little dictators who embrace almost nothing from the old school of liberal thinking. “Laisser faire”, live and let live, you be you and I’ll be me. No, not for a minute. The new left is a nasty, vindictive, petty and sanctimonious movement that seeks to attack and vilify those who disagree with it and is quick to alienate members of its own party when they fail to join the chorus or offer a slightly non-conforming position on race, class, privilege or justice.
The Economist used to be criticized as a right wing magazine, which it was not, but because of its economics-first lens through which it saw the whole world, it was easy to believe it was a conservative publication.
