The boomers, gen-X, each of the postwar generations had its signature inventions. Each left its legacy, its original ideas, its complains, and its culture. But gen-Z is the one that will do less well than its parents - for the first time in two centuries, gen-Z is the roadkill victim. Gen-Z has very few original ideas except its desire to abolish capitalism and replace it with, gosh, we don't yet know what. Gen-Z knows it has failed before the game is even at halftime, and is ready with its excuses. Gen-Z has augmented its ranks by attracting victims from other generations, also feeling helpless against the persistent optimism demonstrated by the mainstream, despite the signs noted by the enlightened gen-Z who can see collapse in our near future. Gen-Z and its co-commiserators can see the future better than the highly educated and the financially successful, despite their relative lack of higher education. Congratulations, enlightened ones!
