Thank you - you're right about Medium and similar platforms: people write incendiary headlines and promote emotionally catchy ideas, they get lots of clicks / reads, and in the end it doesn't matter whether their story is true or not. The journalist's dilemma. On a smaller scale, a Medium write can actually make a (modest) living if their content is eye-catching enough.
