Thank you Scott this is well said and very much needed to be said. While I love New York (51% of it) I'm frequently dismayed by its adherence to grandpa logic and antiquated norms. An employer has no business curtailing the career options of its former employees, and I would say that goes for private equity fueled acquisitions as well. I look forward to the day when I get sued by some dusty east coasters for blithely disregarding a non-compete.
