Thank you for this. I've been gradually abandoning the left for 4-5 years now. I feel the frustrations and despair felt by my friends on the left, but I don't have confidence in their approach to solving the problems. Instead, I believe in a 'big tent' democratic party, one that embraces center-left, even center-right and renegade republicans, and of course most of the liberals and progressives who are skeptical of all this centrism. I believe we can compromise and create a roadmap that addresses most of the critical problems. Joe and Kamala are my dreams come true, my prayers answered. And I'm glad there wasn't a blue wave or a senate flip. we need to stop thinking of trump supporters as our enemies. They're just people. We must try to put ourselves in their shoes to understand what makes them tick.
