Thank you - and yes. This is a problem not well confronted by Democrats.

I live in Marin county just north of San Francisco. Latinos make up 16% of our population, and I have many latino friends, and chat with others in the course of day to day life.

It's laughable that democrats believe they deserve the latino vote. Yes, democrats represent a culture that is kinder to immigrants, migrants, unemployed people and those in need of free services because of economic disadvantage. And no, that isn't enough reason to assume democrats have it all sewn up.

Latinos are traditional, family-centric and strongly religious. They are not strong LGBT rights advocates (that's putting it mildly). They are not generally pro-choice. And while they stand together and help each other in times of need, they are not natural born socialists. They come from people who moved here to escape terrible poverty and corruption. They came here to work hard and make money. Stop talking to them as people who want handouts. They don't.

Latinos are mixed when it comes to immigration and border control. Most Guatemalans who are here with green card or US citizenship, absolutely do not want an open border that would allow the nasty people back home to walk in here and set up their gang operations. If Trump promises to lock them out and Biden sounds like he will let them in, well there goes your Guatemalan vote.

It's ridiculous that democrats think they will get the majority of the latino vote.
