Stop giving your money to Jeff Bezos!

Actually No. And stop telling me what to do.

I don’t like monopolies. And I don’t like rigged or closed markets. Because we all lose. I hated Microsoft in the 1990’s because it owned all of the work computer and half of the home computer universes. With a shitty product, horrible service, dog slow innovation, and we had nowhere else to go.

I’m sad that Facebook is so powerful. I haven’t been able to remove it from my life, though I have deleted their apps and reduced my daily presence to a couple of minutes. Its power and its presence are like crack to a crack addict. You hate it but you can’t push it away.

It’s a pity that Google owns so much of my online life, at work and at home. Google knows so much about me, and it has become an unavoidable necessity in my day to day.

Apple is an asshole. I hate the company, but I still love their products. I wish we had 4–5 companies building personal compute and connect devices, each with its special character. But Apple isn’t hurting me directly. It’s simply preventing a startup from coming to me with something better than a MacBook Air or an iPad.

I have booted Microsoft to the curb and am delighted to be using none of their products, not even Skype. I have an elephant’s memory, and I don’t want to revisit…
