Scott, this is populist thinking and is unbecoming of a professor who has made a good deal of money in business. It belongs, instead, with low level administrators and retail workers who have yet to achieve success and prefer to comfort themselves with the politics of envy.
America's tech industry is the envy of Europe and Asia. Nobody is able to replicate our appetite for risk, our fail-tolerant investor mentality, our freewheeling capital markets and our voracious desire to innovate over the status quo. Cripple this situation, and we'll be Australia or Canada. A mediocre, sensible country that doesn't lead the world in anything.
