Most tech companies can't find the people to fill their open jobs listed. Cutting salaries for people living in faraway spots will make it harder. Yes, originally the salary was higher in SV and NYC because of geographical density of demand and higher cost of living. It may be fair over time to flatten that out a little if people can live in Idaho and do good work.

It will be interesting to see what the less modern workplaces do, because after all this is where most people work. What will all those dusty insurance companies and banks do?
