Israel — Gaza: I’m not your ally. Go ahead, dox me
I won’t be told what to do
I refuse to take sides in the middle east’s latest bout of horrendous violence. It seems that anyone who dares to speak out against Israel gets slammed with antisemite slander by the elite crew running the ‘liberal’ media. The problem is that these people are not liberal at all. They run a soft-power dictatorship that runs deep and drives cancel culture and most of the woke hysteria that is difficult to tolerate even for the most patient among us. I am not antisemitic. I do not in any way bias against Israel or Jewish people. It’s possible to love the people of a country and disapprove of the regime they live under: Iran, Turkey, China, India under Modi, USA under Trump, the list goes on, and for me it includes Israel under Netanyahu. And the Palestinian people under Hamas.
A long time ago I had my moment of Hamas sympathizing — when I was in college. I learned from that phase that when I let my anger overrule my judgment, I fall for the illusion that the enemy of the thing I dislike is my friend. Palestinians are great people, but the regime they live under is as bad as any on the planet. Corrupt, self-serving, blinkered and incompetent. It doesn’t care at all about the wellbeing of its citizens. It deserves no sympathy or support from me.
That doesn’t mean I’ll support Israel. The only option available to me in the current landscape is to observe, refuse to take…
