I hope you're right Caren. I believe overall that you are. Mitt Romney will lead the slow march out into the light and will reassure former stalwarts it's OK to speak and begin forming new alliances. There will be an alt-right, with senators and congressmen signed up, and strong alt-right media outlets. There will be dark money flowing from 'somewhere' to fund social media and rallies. Fox has begun its gingerly shifting to 'sensible right wing', distancing itself from nutcases like Alex Jones and OAN. Newsmax will try to move into that space, but will find its audience much smaller than the one Fox left behind. There will, sadly, be the occasional mad gunman and the Trump base won't just go away. Trump won't be gone from Twitter and mad max rallies, he will just be gone from government.
