Great article - you break down the factions and camps of pro-Must and anti-Musk and give color on their underlying motivations. Many of Musk's critics are imply hate-the-rich, frustrated little nobodies who have never invented anything and never will. Others are offended by his irreverence and egocentrism. Fair enough. Others are traditionalists, fundamentally skeptical of all that is new, favoring the tried and trusted instead. They build elaborate narratives about how Elon got big money behind him and practically anyone could have done what he has done, given the opportunity and the funding. These people fail to understand the scale and complexity of the problems Tesla has solved to be where it is, and the insane pace of innovation at Tesla, compared to glacial pace of traditional automakers. So VW in two year may equal Tesla one year ago. Great, but in 2 years Tesla will be 6 years ahead of VW. Why is this so hard to understand? People at traditional automakers go home at 6pm and they take weekends off - therein lies the difference.
