Gosh. America's anti-capitalists and hate-the-rich brigades really ought to learn simple mathematics and checking sources, kind of like you would do for a high school economics paper.
The top 1% in 2019 earned $421K. That's 3.3 million people. The top 0.1$ earned $1.6M. That's 320,000 people. All these numbers can be checked by searching "top 1% us income" so presumably even a 5th grader can write a paper on this.
Can we agree on a few things: 1) the wealth gap is a serious problem and needs to be addressed if we are to have a country at all 10 years from now; 2) no, the wealthy are not the villains here, and they don't have enough money to pay for everything (try to spreadsheet Jeff Bezos paying to feed and house America's homeless - he's broke in a month).
Why is it that the people who write this stuff are innumerate and economically illiterate?
