Trump is my least favorite president of all time, but we got him because we're lazy, complacent and divided.

Democrats all agree that Donald Trump is a moron. I believe he is a thug and a bully and a racist, but not at all stupid. He has the hallmarks of a charismatic leader who is able to hypnotize his audience and make them believe the sky is green and the grass is blue. He is a master of gaslighting, and he is able to bump opponents off their path more easily than anyone I've observed. His trail of destruction through the 2016 primaries, case in point. His manner is carefully cultivated and practiced over decades. He upsets refined, educated people, and delights thuggish people. He knows exactly what to say to his base.

The Art of War: know thine enemy. We should be less quick to write him off, more ready to accept his talents and work at his weaknesses. Anything could happen.
