Go ahead, slam the Forward Party, because you’re afraid.
Forward, the renamed Forward Party, formed in 2021 and in July 2022 launched across national news chatter, aims to take advantage of America’s political polarization to finally establish a third political party that might actually gather electoral might, unlike previous attempts whose only success was a spoiler effect reducing Democratic Party total vote count.
We should expect Forward to run into serious headwinds, fanned by both Republicans and Democrats, and augmented by political media. Why? Because each of the above groups benefit greatly from the status quo, and are scared shitless of any fundamental change in the red-blue tribalism that has rules our awareness since the 1950s. Because it makes too much sense. Because it would destabilize the daily monetization of our digital attention economy, and this is very bad for social media and digital media, not to mention how bad it is for sitting senators and house representatives.
I prefer not to credit Fox News with anything good, however this organization adopted and leveraged the term “Exhausted Majority”, or which I am a proud and exhausted member. And so are you, if you try to be honest for a minute.
