Democrats: brace for a crushing defeat

Snatched from the jaws of victory

I’m a Democrat. Or I was, until around 2015 when I began losing faith in the anti-Trump movement and the blue party’s reaction to the groundswell of populist pro-dictator support.

I was re-energized when Biden began — with our active and hearty support — beating out the more progressive presidential candidates and became the de facto candidate to defeat Trump. We had to listen to the bedwetters complaining about the old guard and the octogenarians like Pelosi who, it was claimed, needed to retire and make room for youth and new ideas. Many who still had cable TV eventually turned off the tube as it became impossible to listen to any political discussion. We heard endless whining about gender politics and racial politics, and we heard almost nothing resembling a plan for society that might resonate with working families, small businesses, educators and medical workers.

The Democratic Party watched haplessly as droves of formerly stalwart blue voters decamped and crossed over to the red side. Union workers. Whaaaat? Yes, we abandoned them because they’re white and uneducated and we think we’re too intelligent and forward looking for them. Latinos. I shit you not, we abandoned Latinos, because they tend to vote against us on LGBTQ issues and women’s rights issues. Therefore…
