Want to start winning?

Full disclosure: I’m a centrist, a firm Joe Biden fan, and while I agree with many or most of the progressives’ ideas, I don’t identify with the progressive movement, for reasons I’ll explain here. That said, I’d love to see the progressive movement become a well organized, winning team that is able to get into power and make things happen. Reference: Dear progressives

Why I’m not a progressive: I want to work hard and do well. I want to pay my fair share of taxes and I want sensible limits on the ability of the rich and powerful to exploit labor, the government or the poor. Beyond that, I want to be part of a ‘caring capitalist’ society, where skin color and religion don’t matter, but effort, courage and imagination really do matter. I don’t see any of this in the left’s messaging, so I have to call myself a centrist. By the way, I’ve grown thick calluses from being called all manner of names by angry progressives. I’m deaf, and impervious to your name calling. Same with rabid right wingers. Blah blah blah.
