Dear Kamala Harris

Here’s how you can beat Trump

Dear Kamala Harris,

I’m a discouraged democrat. I’m not alone in how I’m feeling, but I feel alone in a crowd of blue-voting Californians who, I fear, have isolated themselves ideologically.

You could beat Donald Trump.

It’s not about what’s right. Or what’s better for America and the world. It’s not about Trump being corrupt and a generally despicable human being. Since around 2015 the emerging sentiment among Americans has been one of revolt against the tech and financial elite, and it continues to grow steadily. Ordinary Americans are much smarter than the world thinks, yet they’re capable of making insanely stupid choices, drawing raised eyebrows from Europeans, Asians, Africans and Latinos as they overeat, are trapped in debt, overwork, and stay addicted to prescription pills. They vote for lunatic senators and house representatives, and many support MAGA — more as a religion than just a political school. Nevertheless, ordinary Americans are hardworking people who care deeply about family, friends, morals and finances. They know when they’re being lied to. They know the orange guy is a sleaze and a liar and a morally bankrupt politician, yet they’re willing to go with him because the alternative smells bad. The Democrats have failed to deliver a credo that working families can relate to. The academics running our cities, schools and universities are so far left, we no longer understand their motives.

Kamala Harris, you can win, if you politely and quietly push the woke agenda to the side, and focus on what matters to working families.

You don’t need to publicly attack wokeism or make any negative statements against the far left agenda. Elon Musk and JD Vance will do that for you — no worries. Instead, do what Barack Obama did. Obama was publicly sympathetic to BLM, Occupy Wall Street and the general handwringing over homelessness. But not sympathetic enough to be their official ally. Privately, Obama distanced himself from all the woke stuff, and it was a great chess move. He ended up pissing off the progressives with his lack of action and his general disengagement from the downtrodden. A genius move. He needed to maintain the confidence of the business community, small business owners, working families and the international banking community. They all panic when the president becomes a Robin Hood character and prioritizes the poor over the economy.

What you need to do.

Is ignore the progressive agenda. Allow centrist groups to write new federal laws around taxation, welfare and housing. Allow centrist committees and senior judges to decide what’s legal or illegal around tent encampments and the care of the unhoused. Refrain from making any public pledge of allegiance to Black Lives Matter. Sure, support the cause and attend some events, but don’t woke your cabinet or allow BLM to hijack your agenda.

What you need to build.

Is the unwavering support of working families. From the immigrant families to the old money, from Missouri to California to Florida to Washington. They need to know your agenda addresses their needs. Safe streets, safe schools, safe neighborhoods, affordable healthcare, a closed border, and a steady economy with low inflation and little unemployment.

You will beat Trump. Without attacking him, without making outrageous promises, without reminding the world of his sleaze and corruption, without criticizing MAGA supporters.

Sadly, you’re surrounded by a very progressive and far left campaign and White House. I’m not 100% confident you’ll steer straight.

Good luck!
