Could not have found a better timing to land upon this great article. I'm sad after a surprise breakup with a woman I still love very much, and my financial picture is looking dicey. I have always felt in my core that without money I'm nothing, therefore have been willing to make huge sacrifices for financial success.
Feeling sad and vulnerable, I wonder what my meaning is after all.
You're right on most of the points you make. Men are doing badly across all age groups, including dads busily sweating to feed a family and love their kids, then being served divorce papers and getting laid off while being diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Victimhood is not the answer. Resilience and self care, and purity of purpose are the pillars of survival in strange times. Friends are more important than family. Friends chose you, you chose them. You'll do anything for them, and vice versa. Self esteem comes from esteemable acts, not self talk, chewables or AI girlfriends.
Society is not a rip off. We're adjusting to a 5th industrial revolution and it feels extremely uncomfortable.
